30 Skirts in 30 Days: #5 the Perfect Bodycon

It's Friday! Today was slightly warmer, yay! I can't wait any longer.... I want to start wearing my Spring skirts now! So today I did, ha! Yes okay, I had goosebumps for most of the day but it was warmer than yesterday. I wore my all time favourite bodycon skirt, paired with this awesome knit-shirt with cut-out detail at the back.

-this bodycon is from our local Pick'n'Pay clothing store. I bought it last year and have been wearing it every other day since. It the most comfortable skirt I own and it works well with leggings too (for colder weather). The care tag is printed on the inside of the skirt which means no scratchy tag! The composition of the fabric is 94% Cotton and 6% Lycra, soft, stretchy and even more comfort-

-my awesome shirt is from Meltz, it's made of 95% Viscose and 5% Elastane. It's avery fine knit fabric and feels extra smooth and soft, almost silky. I love this back with it's cut out detail (don't mind the bra straps). It almost feels like I wearing my PJ's-

Enjoy your weekend, Friends!

Project a Day: #14 Mori Girl Necklet

It seems our winter has only just begun. It is freezing today! Today's project was inspired by all the lovely Japanese flower scarves I've been seeing on Pinterest. Go to my love crochet board to see some of the pretty ones I've pinned. For this "necklet" I used this crochet flower pattern and then I kinda just made it up as I went along. So I guess you can say I just created a pattern.

-for this pattern, I used half a skein of Spice, Double Knitting. It's lovely for an Acrylic yarn, very soft on the hands while working it. Almost no yarn was wasted, the only off-cuts were from the finishing off(a few tiny pieces)-

-At last this outfit is complete! I made this body con skirt last year but couldn't get an outfit together that "spoke to me". This year I found the forrest green tights at Fashion Express, the waterfall card at Meltz and now my Mori Girl Necklet has brought this outfit together perfectly-

30 Days of Dresses: Dress #13

Whoooo-hooooo! Lucky #13! Wow, I can't believe I'm almost halfway with this challenge. Today was another warm day here in Hermanus and I could'nt help but long for spring a little. So I thought that this floral print dress would be quite suited for my Spring mood.

-I found this circle knit shrug at the Rotary Anne's Charity shop in town. It's lovely and soft and cuddly warm... It cost R10(1.09 US Dollars), just the kind of thrifty thrill I'm addicted to-

-just a quick piece of info on my heart locket, It was a present from Dave on our 3rd year of dating. It opens up to form a four-leaf-clover, it's quite something! Inside Dave put little pictures of us from when we just met which was 12years ago(crazy, huh?)-

30 Days of Dresses #1

Can you believe that it is May already? It is officially Autumn here in South Africa, the air is crisp and the shadows are long. The sun rises more than an hour later and sets more than an hour earlier. As I am turning 30 in October (I know, the big 3.0.) I have decided to start collecting things in 30's. It may sound stupid, but it's quite a big year and I want to prepare myself for this big number. So my first collection is 30 Days of Dresses! This means no jeans for a month! Hope I can keep it up... During the next 30 days, I will not only be wearing a dress every day but I will be revamping old or vintage dresses and maybe even thrift some too. The month of May is going to be a dress adventure month. I hope you will join me on this adventure as it unfolds on my blog and that you will enjoy it with me.

-this first dress is pretty strait forward, I found it at Mr.Price and loved it! It also has cut-out detail on the back but I forgot to ask Dave to take a picture of that-

-these sunnies belonged to either my grandmother or her sister, it was given to my uncle Drean who gave it to my little brother Andre' when he was four and then I rescued them from his toy trunk before he threw out all his old toys-

-Dave bought me these sexy heels for Christmas-

Outfit Love: Peach and Polkadots

What a lovely sunny Tuesday! I'm so happy that I could get this outfit together at last! It was inspired by various pins over a period of about two years. I know, crazy right? It seems South Africa is always a couple of year behind when it comes to trends, technology etc. Then I might add that I collected these items over a period of 10 years. Even crazier!? I know, but if I find something I really love (and it lasts) I just cannot ever get rid of it.

  • the pretty dirty peachy cardigan, I recently found at Meltz @R79.00
  • the amazing bobble necklace, I found at Mr.Price last year December @R69.99
  • the polka-dotted shirt, I found at Mr.Price about four years ago
  • the skinny jeans, I found at Pick'n'Pay Clothing about five months ago @R119.99
  • the pretty pink and brown peep-toe heels with bows, I found at Rage about 10 years ago
  • the awesome owly earrings, were a gift from my sister-in-law (Yuseon) when they visited from South Korea last year
  • the cat-eye sunnies, I found at Mr.Price a year ago. they were on sale @R19.99

Outfit Love: Colour!

The first time I walked into Matchbox, I was wearing this dress and Irma told me later that she'd thought I was a hippy:-)) Well I'm just a creative being with an intense love for textiles, colour and design. Oh and don't forget my love for everything vintage, oh and thrifting and nature and animals and... okay, so I might be kind of a bohemian. I wish I could dress like a true Gypsy, though. I'm in love with the use of textures, the hair and the sense of being free to roam where ever you wanted, aaaahhhhhh.... doesn't that just sound awesome?! Oh-right, I was actually busy doing an outfit post.

  • The plum cardigan, I got from Meltz a while back. I just love the intensity of the colour and was quite surprised to find it complements a variety of items in my closet.
  • The tye-dyed dress I found in a boutique shop back in Pretoria it was called Blue Bells. I don't know if this shoppy is still there, it was a branch of the mother-shop, Signorina's. What a lovely shop, I used to spend hours in there. They had the most beautiful and unique handmade silver jewellery, wow!
  • My cutesie bow-pumps are from Mr. Price(L.O.V.E.)
  • The Mystic Bell around my neck, was bought at the annual gem-market in the Brooklyn Mall(also in Pretoria)
-I do apologize for my rambling this morning, it must be the excitement talking. You see, we're moving into our new place in 11days and I just cannot wait anymore-

Outfit Love - warm in autumn

The strange thing about this outfit, is that every item has been in my closet for quite some time now. They are odd pieces that never went with anything else, yet I couldn't get rid of them. Then out of the blue they all just came together, like they'd been waiting for each other :)
  • Leather necklace(trio of hearts) by OddOneOut @R100 from MishMash. This is one of my favourite pieces, it simply goes with everything
  • Silk scarf a gift from my Gran, it is hand dyed using the Batik method
  • Yellow tank top from Mr.Price, I bought this one a year ago
  • Plum cardigan from Meltz, I bought this one two years ago
  • Floral skirt from Smiley's, I bought this when I was still in school. Smily's doesn't even exist anymore but I love this skirt, it's made from a lovely Viscose fabric
  • Brogues from Mr.P, they are so comfy and versatile, I sometimes don't even notice how much I really wear them<3
There's nothing like a pretty outfit to make you feel good!
