Yarn Bombing with Ideas Magazine

Last year November, I handed my little contribution to the Yarn Bombing project at the Ideas Magazine offices in Cape Town. I wish I could have done more, unfortunately time caught up with me and I could only make one piece. This was my first Filet Crochet, crochet rose and leaves I have ever done. It took a bit longer than I had initially thought, but it worked, I think....
So last night, while on facebook, I saw that the Ideas team had started work on the Yarn Bombing project... and there I saw my piece! Worked into the floor of the Black& White Room!
Just click here and tell me if you can spot my crochet piece...

Outfit LOVE...

Don't you just love it when your Gran or Mom throws out awesome old clothes...
  • Well, this Vintage Floral Blouse was either made by my Gran or her mother. I was still in my first year of studying when my Gran gave my Mom a bag full of old "junk" to give to charity and that's where I dug out this lovely little blouse.
  • The Crochet Bangle was something I was fiddling around with that got so many complements that I started making some as part of my product rage.
  • The awesome bow Belt I found at Mr.Price a about two years ago and I'm just mad about it!
  • And last but not least, the Cross Over Skirt is an authentic 1990's linen skirt which my Mom wore when I was about seven. She recently discovered it and thought I would like it, and she was right! I love it!

Hello there...

I do apologize for my absence the past two weeks, it's been crazy! Something interesting I've noticed, is that my Elmo cupcake pin which I pinned way back when I just started pinning has been re-pinned 82 times! How weird is that?! And about all of them in the past two weeks... Is there some "year of the Elmo" I don't know about? What's going on?!

This is where I found the Elmo cupcakes, lovely cupcakes
They are cute, aren't they?

Summer OddOne's at Deja Vu!

Some lovely Summer goodies to look out for at Deja Vu's new shop in Hermanus (right above the Mug'n'Bean). They've got a beautiful spot there, over looking the centre of town and the sea... So whenever you're in the area, pop in at Deja Vu and support all the really awesome gifts and crafts that are handmade by the local Artists and Crafters.

My vintage, fabric, yo-yo brooches are so much fun and brighten up any outfit! Then I've also made some statement crochet bangles...love wearing these myself:) The vintage denim bows are hairclips but you can put them anywhere you like;)

These Turquoise&Orange textile necklaces are my favourite out of all the textile necklaces I've made! The colour combination has such a positive effect on a person. When you put one of these babies on, you feel like you can do anything! I really loved making these, I even made an extra one for myself...
