30 Days of Dresses: Dress #19

Today's dress I dug out of a crate. I'd bought this in China Town just before we moved to Hermanus which is about three years ago now. This is the very first time I've had it on and Dave says to me: "it makes you look big". I don't know about this one, I loved the paisleys and the colour combinations but the bubble is a bit strange to get used to. It also doesn't help that it is uber short either, that why I wore my jeans under it.

We went to Grotto beach for a family friend's birthday celebration, it was the most beautiful day out! The fires were going and we had a lovely "braai" and Betty(the birthday girl) made the most delicious chocolate cake.

-there's just something about this dress that make me want to keep it, but it's only gonna waste space if I not going to wear it-

-the patterns are really fine and pretty, I like how they incorporated shades of pink with shades of grey. It's actually quite nice, maybe I'll give it one more try...with stockings and heels?-

30 Days of Dresses #1

Can you believe that it is May already? It is officially Autumn here in South Africa, the air is crisp and the shadows are long. The sun rises more than an hour later and sets more than an hour earlier. As I am turning 30 in October (I know, the big 3.0.) I have decided to start collecting things in 30's. It may sound stupid, but it's quite a big year and I want to prepare myself for this big number. So my first collection is 30 Days of Dresses! This means no jeans for a month! Hope I can keep it up... During the next 30 days, I will not only be wearing a dress every day but I will be revamping old or vintage dresses and maybe even thrift some too. The month of May is going to be a dress adventure month. I hope you will join me on this adventure as it unfolds on my blog and that you will enjoy it with me.

-this first dress is pretty strait forward, I found it at Mr.Price and loved it! It also has cut-out detail on the back but I forgot to ask Dave to take a picture of that-

-these sunnies belonged to either my grandmother or her sister, it was given to my uncle Drean who gave it to my little brother Andre' when he was four and then I rescued them from his toy trunk before he threw out all his old toys-

-Dave bought me these sexy heels for Christmas-

Lucky Friday Finds #8

I don't know about you, but I love finding new things to eat. I don't mean like FearFactor style, just stepping away from the traditional South African usual's and trying something different. There's something about Chinese grocery stores that allures me. I just cannot seem to stay out of them, even if it is just to look at all the interesting stuff. It would probably be nicer if someone could explain to me what all the different food stuffs are and how they are to be used. Anyway, my favourite section in these stores are usually the "candy" sections. Which brings me to my awesome Find... Rice cakes with black bean paste! Wow! I love these little cakes! They're so light, yet rich, and squishy and yummy. I can't seem to get enough of them and what's more, Dave loves them too. YaY! I found these ones at the little chinese grocer at China Town, Cape Town.

-ooooweeee, I need to get my hand on some more of these! yummmmm-

China Town:))

My favourite sweets would have to be White Rabbit sweeties! The ginger sweeties are quite yummy but very sticky to chew. The other sweets with their pretty packaging turned out to be salty prunes... they taste a bit like medicine. I have no doubt that they are very healthy but they're not so great on the taste buds, yucky!
Oh, look! We've got ourselves a couple of White Rabbit Moustach's, hehehe!
I just love Chinese tea's mmmmm...
